There are many good places to go riding here in Alabama, Greyrock, for example, is one of the funnest places around. The Central Alabama Offroad Society (aka. C.A.O.S.) riding club was established in 1999, near Birmingham. You can visit their site at www.caos4x4.com or just click here.
You can either pay $40 a year to join the club and get into all the rides for free year round or you can pay $50 every ride per vehicle. The $40 sounds like a little better idea doesn't it? I just want the sticker that says that I have been just for the bragging rights. It's such an awesome ride up there.
Their web site has a photo page of all the rides to date. Well most of them, when I join, I'm going to see if they wont let me take over the web page. That will be fun. :) Everyone will be able to see every one of the rides then. But anyways, this is c.a.o.s. have fun, join it if you have a truck big enough to get through there. I know mine wont make it.
C.a.o.s. has one official ride per month that is open to members only. Prospective members can attend one ride before joining as a free-b. Most every weekend the members have unofficial rides just for fun. These rides are open to un-official members and members alike.
The vehicles that ride here must meet a set of requirements and safety guidelines. To see these requirements click here.
